Here are some photos from our first Mountainview service project. We
spent a Saturday helping Alejandro and Mary Beth, founders of an
oranization called Operación SOS, sort goods they will take by truck to
Mauritania in Africa in August.
|
This photo gives you an idea of the work we had ahead of us in the
basement. We sorted and organized these items, bundling together
tables, for example, for a school in Mauritania. |
|
|
Here Mary Beth is showing off her store, which serves as a source of
income for the organization, so Mary Beth and Alejandro can continue
making trips to Africa.
|
|
We also tested radios to see which ones were functional and would be
taken to Africa.
|
After we finished working, Alejandro and Mary Beth invited us over to
their house for a barbecue.
|
They showed us the truck they take to Africa. |
Inside, Mary Beth explained how they fill half the truck with goods,
and the other half they use for sleeping and cooking. |
